Tuning in Forza Horizon 6

FH6's physics have been rebalanced — AWD is no longer the default meta. Properly tuned RWD builds are now competitive.

80% of performance comes from upgrades (parts), 20% from tuning (adjustments).

Beginner Basics (Start Here)

1. Tire Pressure

Symptom Fix
Oversteering (rear slides) Lower rear PSI
Understeering (front pushes) Lower front PSI
Wet/snow Lower all -3 PSI

2. Final Drive Ratio

Goal Move Slider
Better acceleration Right (shorter)
Higher top speed Left (taller)

Set so you hit top speed just before your longest straight ends.

3. Differential

Type Setting
AWD Accel 50-70%
RWD Accel 100% (lower for drift)

Suspension Tuning

Ride Height

Terrain Setting
Road racing Lowest possible
Mixed surface +0.5-1.0"
Off-road/rally +1.5-2.5"

Spring Rates

Symptom Fix
Too much body roll Increase both F+R
Oversteer entry Soften rear
Understeer entry Soften front
Bumpy ride Reduce springs, increase damping

Anti-Roll Bars

Symptom Fix
Oversteer mid-corner Soften rear bar
Understeer mid-corner Soften front bar

Camber

Type Road Drift
Front -1.5 to -2.5° -3.0 to -5.0°
Rear -1.0 to -1.5° -0.5 to -1.5°

Drift Builds

Essential Mods

  1. Race diff — 100% accel, 0% decel
  2. Wider rear tires — sustained slides
  3. Max front camber — -5.0°
  4. Stiff rear springs — initiates slides
  5. Long final drive — keeps wheel speed

R-Class Tuning (New)

The new R class for track prototypes needs:

  • Stiffer everything — smooth circuits only
  • Minimum ride height
  • 48-52% front brake bias
  • Adjust wing for track type

Quick Setup Reference

Road Racing

Setting Value
Tire Pressure 30 PSI all
Springs Medium-stiff
Camber F/R -2.0° / -1.3°

Rally Setup

Setting Value
Tire Pressure 27 PSI all
Ride Height +1.5"
Springs/Camber Soft / -1.5°F -1.0°R

Drift Setup

Setting Value
Tire Pressure 35 PSI F / 28 PSI R
Camber F/R -5.0° / -1.0°
Diff 100% / 0%

Common Mistakes

  • Maxing every stat — breaks class balance
  • AWD swap on everything — FH6 nerfed the AWD meta
  • Stiffest springs — loses grip on bumps
  • Max camber on road cars — reduces braking
